Our slippers
are made of high-quality leather
Babouches de France slippers are made from high-quality cowhide leather. The leather is tanned and naturally sun-dried in Morocco. The dyes used are natural and eco-friendly, derived from natural pigments. On some limited-edition models, the leather comes pre-dyed. We strive to choose the most environmentally friendly processing materials. This is a deliberate choice, and we are committed to reducing the use of chemicals that can have undesirable effects. This also means that the colors may vary slightly between batches of the same slipper.
The Berber men's and women's mules and leather slippers are all handcrafted, hand-sewn with double thread. Here again, we are keen to showcase craftsmanship, whether Moroccan or otherwise, and we value the human touch, even if subtle imperfections are sometimes present.
We work in close collaboration with Moroccan artisans, specifically chosen for their quality of craftsmanship.
Since 2025, we have chosen to enhance the comfort of our babouches: Cushioned insole on all our models (Berber slippers, mules, and slippers). Double-layered hem. The interior of the TAMARAH Berber slippers and MAMOUNAH mules is lined with light-colored smooth leather for an even softer feel. We have eliminated both internal and external labels. The midsole is made of leather (our competitors opt for cardboard). High-quality elastomer prevents the soles from splitting.
We try our best to provide you with slippers in crisp, vibrant colors. Despite this, slight variations in the leather may still occur.
Choosing the right size for your slippers
The Moroccan babouche, as we explained, is handmade according to Moroccan sizing standards and criteria. It's important to know that in Morocco, babouches are often worn with a very fitted length, with the heel edge extending slightly beyond the top.
That is why we strongly recommend that you order one size larger than your usual shoe size.
You will find a size chart below. If you have very narrow feet, you can order your size on certain models.
